KPM Antique Marks

There are quite a few of these KPM marks so I highly recommend that you research this mark at the library using books dealing with German marks.

Rontgen's book on German, Bohemian and Austrian Porcelain is great

Also KPF mark is sometimes seen

KPM with crossed swords underneath is Meissen

There are a variety of KPM marks belonging to the Royal Porcelain Factory, Berlin. Most are blue underglaze with the scepter and some have an eagle.

KPM Berlin Mark - Konigliche Porcelaine Fabrique (Royal Porcelain Factory, Berlin) -1763 - present

In 1763, Frederick the Great bought Gotzkowsky's porcelain manufactory in Berlin and founded the Berlin Royal Porcelain Factory (Königliche Porzellan Manufaktur). This factory, under the patronage of the Prussian ruler, rapidly established a reputation for the unequaled quality of materials, decoration and most notably design. The second half of the 18th century saw many celebrated pieces produced by the factory in the European and Chinese taste and style.

Even today, every single item is marked with the royal blue scepter. When a plate is painted, it is also given a special color mark and the initials of the individual painter are added. This is what makes them so desirable to connoisseurs of classic porcelain from Berlin.

Mark is very similar to the KPM Berlin scepter mark, usually black underglaze instead of blue.

Krister Porzellan Manufaktur 1831 -1920
Founded by Carl Franz Krister.

This factory was located in Waldenburg (Silesia - former Germany, now Poland). He imitated the Berlin KPM mark continually to the dismay of the Berlin KPM company. In 1921 the company became part of the Rosenthal Porcelain Group.
After the second World War, the factory became the property of the governement of Poland and the name was changed to "Fabryka Porcelany Krzysztof".
The new marks are pretty evident. There are quite a few marks and variations of the crown and KPM mark

Royal Porzellan Bavaria KPM Germany

This mark began being used circa 1950 - Royal Porzellan Bavaria KPM Germany

Also a mark with Kerafina and rays coming from mark.

Kerafina Porcelain Factory in Marktredwitz, A city in Bavaria, Germany 1950 - present. At some point they began producing toilets and other bathroom ceramics.

I will add more KPM porcelain info as I get the marks.... and time
