I bought this tea set that is hand painted 6 cups and saucers.  All different painted in chicken and rooster scene.  I believe it to be a chocolate tea set made of porelain. I have a friend that reads Chinese and she said it wasn't...so wondering if this is from a earlier date as it appears writing varied?

It looks like an attempt at oriental characters but I think the piece is a reproduction item.
