After looking for weeks to find one similar & thousands of pages...i only found pitchers with curved tops, (still w/drip spouts) but only one with a flat top & it was a staffenshire in 1900s. "not even close to the one i have."  This one is 6" high / brown w/half-inch lines at the top & bottom/ the handle has brief design as a rope at the ends & with 90 degree bends. from a distance it looks as if its a beer stein, w/only a slight curve at the bottom going to 1 3/4 in. The pitcher has blobs of blue on the handle, with one on the front & side. Markings on the bottom are inside a diamond design. Here is a description of markings in the diamond design:  starting at the top, (in a circle) is IV...(just below) 17...(in middle) R4..the 4 is above the R, to the right...(on bottom) 14...(next to the left in middle of diamond) 4...(then all the way to the right) is  J.    It is missing a tiny piece on the thumb lid.  I am sorry i cannot post picture as i am not able to do this.  I found none that were 6" high or any that even looked close to this one, let alone the actual name of this piece, its maker,.....just several names its called..ie. syrup pitcher/creamer/coffee/tea/beer/wine...(always hidden pages & pages into many of the thousands of sites i have looked thru over the past three weeks. "I will gladly send color pictures to anyone thru Granny attic, (by mail), if u are interested. i have not stopped looking, but i am getting tired of this search. Thank u to any one who can help.  have tried to contact Grannys, but not yet have been able to.

I realize your question is a few months old but photos would help a great deal.

The mark on the bottom is the European registration mark but it does not tell us who made it.

This sounds like an interesting piece and I would love to see it and give you some guidance.
