Rare wooden carving.....carry case for game ???

Hello everyone...I need help with a wooden carving I have...I think it might be a bat and ball game carry case....inside the case it has six compartments to hold 5-6" in diameter balls and 2 slightly bigger oblong compartments....I only say a games carry case because on the front of the case is what looks like four men playing a bat and ball game,and on the back of the case it looks like a carving of the bats/clubs...?
Please if anyone has any ideas on this I would be extremely grateful....I have looked all over the web,and have found nothing...It looks old and weighs about 3kg...When folded its about 18"x9"   thanks so much to any information received.

I agree with Mancala now that I see the photo. This is a game played with stones and goes by several names.

Unless, the piece is much bigger than it looks in the photo.
