Hello
I have antique China set of Jean Haviland. I don't know how old it is.
Can you help me to evaluate this set.

Hi Aleksandar,

The Jean Haviland set was made in France and the china is known as Limoges referring to the area in France.
Jean Haviland was the son of of David haviland who moved to France in 1841 who created china for the American taste which upset the French artist.
The Haviland dynasty produced over 30,000 patterns and during World War one the factories were bombed destroying the records, there are many patterns that still have not been identified.

By the look of the back stamp, I am guessing this is a later piece and would not be as valuable as the earlier Haviland china.

If you search online and use the words "Haviland Schleiger" you should find plenty more information. Try google and ebay is always a good start for finding out values although ebay values may be less because of the method of sale.

For insurance purposes it best to find a professional to value your set although its worth trying local auction houses who will often do this for free especially if you intend to sell.
