GoodWill Beautiful Antique Figurine

This is a great website!  I love going to the Goodwill and Salvation Army stores to find rare finds that I feel are worth something for just under $5.00.

I found a beautiful figurine that I purchased for $5.00 of a beautiful woman from the 1800's.  The bottom shows Ruth Duby, Canada, 174, and I have done about 5 hours of research on this person all the way down to her grandchildren.  I was born on the same day she was married and the same day as her son.  I felt an emotional connection.    I am trying to find her granddaughter but cannot find out what happened to the family.  I also did not find anything about her life and what else she might have created.  I do not know where to go to have this appraised. 

Can anyone please help me?  I am not sure how to add a picture to this site.

I did find out that her sister married her husband's brother and in the early 1900's she was the first woman who fought for birth control and women's rights.

It sounds like you were meant to find her with all the connection you have found.

Can you post a photo of the mark?

Also is she porcelain or ceramic?
