tin type photo i think

i have an old tin photo of a man. his face and head are like the normal old photo but then his body appears to be drawn in or sketched in and its smaller than his normal body would be. does anyone know what this is?

A photo would be helpful but it sounds like the body may not have been well defined so it was drawn in or at a later time someone could have just been messing around with the piece and drawn in a body.
