Beautiful Blackamoor Lamp - anyone know anything about it?

Years ago at an antique farm auction down in the south of Joplin part of Missouri, I purchased a beautiful Blackamoor lamp.  I wonder if anyone knows anything about this sort of thing.  I'm pretty sure it's chalk.  I have a picture of it, but am not sure how to upload it.
