I have recently come upon a metal cart on rollers.  On the front are a crossed spoon and fork, a door at the bottom with a small swing door above it and the whole thing opens to reveal storage space for flatware (so it appears).  Even the top pulls apart to reveal storage below.  What is this?  How old?  The thing that really throws me for a loop is the side "trap door".  What is that about?

You can link to the photo or upload it to this forum so that we can see it but it sounds like a tea service cart.

Some had places to store linens, flatware, etc. but without seeing it I can't say for sure what the flap is.
