His son, Jean Paul LE VERRIER (1922- 1996) continued the company until his death and then Max's great grandson, Damien Blanchet LE VERRIER has seen to it that the business continues its operations today.
Max Le Verrier is best known for his creation of "CLARTE", the woman with a lighted ball created in 1928, see the attached photo. Art Deco was his forte, from car mascots (hood ornaments) to bookends, lamps, figurines and animals.
Your item looks like it is part of a desk set. It is not in the Art Deco style with Le Verrier is known for. The text on the bottom translates to "Lintel of St Genis of the Fountains" and Lintel is
A horizontal structural member, such as a beam or stone, that spans an opening, as between the uprights of a door or window or between two columns or piers
The depiction on the box is of the lintel at Saint-G?nis-des-Fontaines a Benedictine abbey in Saint-G?nis-des-Fontaines, Pyr?n?es-Orientales, France. It was dedicated to Saint Genesius and Saint Michael, to whom the surviving church is still dedicated. The abbey was recorded for the first time in 819.

Art Deco pieces by this wonderful sculpter sell for thousands of dollars depending upon the piece.
