I will kick things off.

I am a wife to an amazing man for the past 23 years, the mother of 2 wonderful young women, granny to an almost 9 year old, pet owner (2 dogs) and an antique dealer and collector.

I started collecting at age 5 and have never stopped. At the moment I collect a wide variety of items; dolls, pewter, vintage pixies, salesman sample pottery or miniature pottery pieces, art (nothing expensive or high brow), textiles, ephemera of all types... and several other items.

When I was in my mid 20's I began selling antiques, collectibles, memorabilia and vintage items and here I am now the owner of a beautiful antique shop and a successful on line antique shop.

Texas is my home, I am a native Texan but have lived in Kansas for 25 years. I will never get used to the cold weather.

Alaskan raised and I can't get used to the cold winters here either. Wink I love collecting anything old, but especially the baby pixies in chairs or shoes. I'm very excited about finding your site and will peruse it regularly.

Hi, just an ol' gal from Louisiana here.  What a nice place to visit here!!  I am really interested in so many old things, it's hard to pick a favorite.  I do love old vintage jewelry, coin silver pieces, and china.  I am not so knowledgable, but do like to surf the net and have learned a lot doing so.  Nice to be here!

Hi y'all.  My name is Lisa.  I hate the cold!!!  I've lived in Georgia for 17 years, b4 that home was Connecticut.  My grammie on Cape Cod got me hooked on antiques whether they came from the family or we shopped for them.  After she passed away in 1998, I acquired all the household furnishings plus what she had been passing down me all those years.

Times are tough now and I don't have any children to pass this stuff down to, so I gotta sell some of it.  It breaks my heart.  Glassware, quilts, furniture, books, china, kitchen stuff (a whole wall of gadgets), oh my gosh so much stuff....  If I ever opened my own shop I would call it "Just Like Grammie".  She would be so proud.

Any knowledge I can learn here makes my life that much easier.  I hope I can share something with all of you too!

Good day

I am residing in Newcastle South Africa. I would appreciate your feedback on a plate which I have inhereted.
This is a " Petrus Regouta Co MAASTRICHT " serving plate. athe back is stamped with this marking as well as " PLATE made in Hollland ". There is also a very small "z" as well as the number 12. The 1 is very faint but the 2 is clear.
The front of the plate has two, maybe finches, on a wooden fence or rather just a piece of fence with what seems like small branches of berries. On the other side of this plate is a small bird with open wings.
What is interesting, is, on the one edge of the plate there seeems to be a flying insect. The actual print seems as if it moved whilst in the making of this plate as the wing seems to have moved off centre. The coulors of the plate is off-white with brown printing. One cannot help but wonder about the origen of this plate. Maybe you have encountered such??
