Hi,
Found at an estate sale in the kitchen section of the sale so I'm assuming it's for kitchen use.  The ends are just ever so slightly open, the knobs (?) some of them are open, some are not. 

No idea as to the age, no rust on it, no marks either.  Had some real fun trying to find out what it is.

It looks like a nutmeg grater and the ends would be used to pry open the nut.
