i have a dresser type peice dated dec 26th 1893..was  beleived to be used as wash hanger or....approx 36in h 28 w 16 indeep an can hang washclothes on it..any help??? Smiley

Without photos it is hard to say but it sounds like you might have a wash stand with a towel rod across the top.
